How Private Equity is faring during tumultuous times
Faced with aggressive rate hikes and a correction in valuations, PE deal volume saw a decline in 2022 following a record-breaking 2021—although it still emerged as the second-best year for the industry. This year, PE firms are struggling to exit investments profitably in the face of market instability, declining IPOs, interest rate hikes, reduced lending, and sluggish economic growth projections.
