09 DECEMBER 2021: TELECOMS
Teletalk, the solo state-owned GSM, 3G, LTE and 5G-based mobile phone operator in Bangladesh, has selected Nokia to launch the first 5G network in the country
- Nokia collaborated with Teletalk Bangladesh to install Bangladesh’s first ever 5G network, supporting the government’s digital plan to enhance automation, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 in the nation
- Under the deal, Nokia will initially equip the nation with its latest ReefShark System on its Chip-powered AirScale equipment portfolio
- To coincide with Bangladesh’s golden jubilee independence celebrations, Teletalk will inaugurate its 5G network with Nokia, which has been Teletalk’s partner since 2004 for joint deployment of the country’s 2G, 3G, and 4G networks

Deloitte launched an infinite reality service Dimension10 Studio – a virtual and physical space – for customers to create unlimited reality experiences
- Deloitte, a multinational professional services company, has inaugurated an unlimited-reality service offering – Dimension10 Studio – to enable the customers to create “Infinite Reality” experiences
- The Dimension10 Studio service combines AI, AR, VR, IoT architecture, and 5G connectivity to help clients explore cross-industry AI use cases in “The AI Dossier” in a virtual world to enhance the innovation cycle
- Deloitte also extends its collaboration with NVIDIA through this initiative, leveraging the ‘Deloitte Center for AI Computing’ and the power of NVIDIA’s ‘Omniverse Enterprise platform’ for 3D design collaboration
14 January 2022: Telemedicine, Defense
US Defense Department explores secure 5G core environment at the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) by investing in telemedicine experiments
- US Defense Department is prospecting next-generation 5G wireless capabilities to enhance health care for US defense service members
- The officials at the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) are developing 5G-enabled medical applications to support future troops by pushing forward military telemedicine experiments
- JBSA is also exploring projects that include the use of augmented reality to boost medical training and strengthen coverage
12 January 2022: Tech Consulting
Tech Mahindra and Nokia integrated to pilot 5G private wireless solutions for enterprises globally
- Tech Mahindra, an Indian IT MNC, has partnered with Nokia to establish 5G-based solutions for businesses around the globe
- The company will facilitate automating 5G private wireless network management on a cloud by leveraging Nokia’s private wireless DAC (digital automation cloud) solution for customers across various industries
- Nokia DAC will also allow access to integration with 3rd party applications through comprehensive application program interfaces (APIs)
1 January 2022: Sports and Entertainment
AEG expanded partnership with Mobilitie to install 5G wireless network connections at two of its largest and most complex venues
- Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), an American worldwide sporting and music entertainment presenter, has chosen Mobilitie, a telecommunications infrastructure company, to deploy 5G network at its Crypto.com Arena Center and L.A. LIVE Complex
- Mobilitie has been chosen to enhance operational efficiency and transform fan experiences across the campuses using its technologically advanced multi-carrier wireless networks
- The connection will meet future wireless demands, allow for expanded digital initiatives, and improve venue operations along with enhanced fan communications
06 January 2022: OEM
Movandi partnered with Doosan to develop 5G mmWave smart repeater modules based on Movandi’s BeamXR technology
- Movandi, a 5G millimeter-wave (mmWave) RF technologies and software company, and Doosan Group, a South Korean multinational manufacturing company, have collaborated to design and manufacture 5G-phased array antenna solutions
- The partnership is driven by the need to meet growing global demand for 5G mmWave connectivity, as a part of both companies’ commitment to bringing the 5G vision with rapid, cost-effective mmWavedeployments
- The companies will design and manufacture smart repeater modules based on Movandi’s BeamXR technology to develop the latest 28 GHz MV285x 5G mmWave module solution
22 December 2021: Telecom
Vodafone launched the company’s first 5G MiFi device featuring WiFi 6 for enhanced connectivity
- Vodafone has launched a 5G MiFi device – a 5G mobile broadband device and 5G Mobile Hotspot, that converts the company’s 4G and 5G network into WiFi 6 and allows customers to connect their devices efficiently for enhanced internet connection
- The company’s battery-powered broadband device comes with WiFi 6 feature and has an 8.5-hour battery life which allows sharing WiFi with at most 32 users at a time
- The company offers its customers an option of a fixed-term or rolling contract starting at £10 a month for the 5G Mobile Hotspot
21 December 2021: Healthcare
Thailand opened its first ASEAN 5G smart hospital with 5G connectivity in partnership with Huawei
- Thailand becomes the first country among ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, to open up a 5G connect smart hospital in the nation
- The country has partnered with Huawei to launch the largest 5G smart hospital pilot project in Bangkok, which is expected to expand to other hospitals in the future
- Under a 5-year MoU with Huawei, the Siriraj Hospital of Thailand project comprise of sub-projects like smart emergency rooms and emergency medical service, a pathological diagnosis system with 5G and AI, and much more
16 December 2021: Technology
Dish collaborated with FreedomFi and Helium to launch a pilot program – Neutral Host CBRS 5G Hotspot Network
- Dish, the American television, and direct-broadcast satellite provider has partnered with FreedomFi, an open 5G networking company, to launch the Neutral Host CBRS 5G Hotspot Network
- The initiative, which is the industry’s first-of-its-kind community-driven network, will encourage customers to take part in the connectivity future with the help of open-source platforms
- The program will be supported by the Helium software to determine how much data traffic has passed through, and will also help the users earn cryptocurrency, or Helium native token, worth $25-$30
