The Economist

“Students from Harvard Business School and MIT's Sloan School of Management were recently invited to play a "war game" between the big four internet portals-Yahoo!, Google, Time Warner's AOL, and Microsoft's MSN. The organiser, Fuld & Company, a consultancy….In the real world, the stakes are far higher, but the basic analysis may prove correct…” - Yahoo!’s personality crisis, The Economist, August 13, 2005

“Leonard Fuld's competitive intelligence firm, Fuld & Co., carries out corporate war games to give clients an edge.  "What war games allow you to do is see scenarios in advance. Then as you see changes in the market, you have a strategy in your hip pocket.”  – Investor’s Business Daily, March 5, 2007

According to a war game played out at
London's Business School last week, MySpace wins. But, in a conclusion that was validated by this week's Viacom lawsuit against Google and YouTube for copyright infringement, the participants concluded that both MySpace and YouTube are vulnerable to legal attacks and government regulations that target illegal activities and objectionable content, such as child pedophilia and pornography. Copyright lawsuits will be a "major distraction at best or they could undermine" the businesses, says Leonard Fuld, president of Boston-based Fuld & Co., which ran the war game. "Sexy and cool as MySpace and YouTube seem, they are prone to attacks”… The war game could be seen as more than an intellectual exercise, as some predictions from previous war games later came true. – CNET, March 16, 2007

UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business offers a unique Competitive Intelligence (CI) course as part of its MBA program. To ensure that the CI course delivers a comprehensive and best-in-class curriculum, the Merage School uses the assistance of Fuld & Company, the world's leading consultancy in the competitive intelligence field. The course culminates in a live "war game," facilitated by Fuld and the Merage School, and pitting teams of MBA candidates against each other in the context of an actual business case. This real-world exercise serves as the final exam for the course and was based on Fuld's successful work with Harvard Business School, MIT's Sloan School of Business, and the London School of Business.

“…The clear leader in the corporate war game field is Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Fuld and Company (www.fuld.com) that facilitates about two events per month for various organizations around the globe. One of their clients was looking for the most effective recruiting strategy to attract PhD scientists; through playing a war game, the company discovered it needed to be much more aggressive and, like its competitor, establish relationships with Chinese universities.” – Herman Trend Alert, January 31, 2007
