Project Experience
E-Commerce
Client Situation
Our client, a leading provider of Internet infrastructure services, wanted
to review its IT spending, especially in the e-business arena to insure
its competitiveness. The client selected three representative competitors
for the project. Topics included their e-business strategy and tactics,
including support for on-line ordering, customer service, personalization,
and potential adoption of an ASP model. Other questions covered the type
of system used to their mission-critical functions, their security policies,
the degree of integration of front end and back end applications, and
their knowledge management strategy.
Fuld Approach
Fuld & Company found few names of IT staff in the secondary literature
to contact. Therefore, we networked from sources in sales, marketing,
and PR to knowledgeable individuals in the internal IT organizations.
Benefits and Implications
With this knowledge, the client discover that it was ahead of its competitors
in its e-business development, but had neglected other IT issues such
as integration with backend legacy systems and had to revamp its plans
to catch up. For more information on E-Commerce, please contactMark Chodnowsky at mchodnowsky@fuld.com
