Fuld & Company and ECL Announce Alliance Leaders in Competitive Intelligence and Technology Benchmarking Team Up

Cambridge, Mass. and Austin, TX - June 3, 2003 - Fuld & Company, the global leader in competitive intelligence research, analysis and training through its technology & communications consulting practice is pleased to announce a formal relationship with the EEMBC Certification Laboratories, also known as the Embedded Computer Labs (ECL), the leader in embedded benchmarking, benchmark certification and software engineering.

ECL brings to the Fuld team over twenty years in benchmarking, certification, software development and software testing as well as strategic consulting for leading semiconductor, software, and systems companies. By joining forces with Fuld & Company's technology group, the alliance provides clients actual technical benchmarking of a competitor's advertised features, and performance in microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSP) or Java accelerators, as well as software and systems. Moreover, ECL's experience means broader, deeper technical knowledge can be brought to bear on a given problem.

"ECL is pleased to announce this alliance with Fuld & Company at a time when, more than ever, technology companies need factual, tactical, and strategic guidance to achieve profitability, increased market share, and dominance", said ECL Chairman and CTO Alan R. Weiss. "We couldn't be more pleased in having the world leader in competitive intelligence as our partner."

Knowing how a competitor's product actually performs under lab conditions will help Fuld's client's better respond and be proactive to changing market conditions. This knowledge will enable our clients to stay one step ahead, and will give them the "competitive advantage" necessary to remain best in breed.

"We look forward to working with ECL in this unique alliance. R&D does not stop at the lab bench. Research and strategic examination must continue on into the sales and marketing side of the company," said Leonard Fuld, President of Fuld & Company.

Fuld & Company brings to the alliance its knowledge of competitive intelligence, its ability to perform primary interviews with key decision makers who really understand the unique business issues. Fuld uses this ability to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to define what the implications are to your company and to deliver actionable intelligence so that you can make the necessary business decisions. Fuld & Company, founded in 1979 by Leonard M. Fuld, wrote the book on competitive intelligence (The New Competitor Intelligence). A new book is scheduled to come out later this fall. With offices in Cambridge, Geneva, and London, Fuld & Company provides international capabilities to clients in multiple vertical industries. Fuld's technology practice has completed over 700 projects for hardware, software and services companies as well as projects in the field of telecommunications industry.
