Research Director

Fuld & Company, the world's preeminent research and consulting firm in the field of market and competitive intelligence (CI) is seeking a Research Director to lead CI projects through the full project life cycle within Fuld’s technology practice. This person will report directly to the head of the technology practice and manage ongoing client relationships and deliverables throughout each project. Clients are generally large technology companies worldwide seeking astute insights into their dynamic competitive environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Managing CI Projects
• Supervising the intelligence collection and analysis activities of a team of research analysts
• Establishing research methodology and designing a format for data gathering
• Managing the delivery of milestones with multiple projects
• Documenting client correspondence and deliverables
• Ensuring all intelligence gathering process and procedures confirm to legal and ethical guidelines
2. Results
• Delivering final reports and presentations on-time and on-budget
• Creating compelling written documents, both in Word and PPT
• Presenting CI analysis and conclusions to clients, utilizing overall industry knowledge
3. Business Development
• Writing proposals
• Expanding new research opportunities within existing clients
4. Client Interaction
• Managing all key interactions with our clients
• Communicating project status and results to the client Responding to client needs as those needs change over the course of the project
5. Coaching/Developing Analysts
• Guiding and mentoring analysts, helping when necessary

Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate ideally should possess:

1. An MBA degree or equivalent experience
2. 3 – 5 years experience in leading research or consulting projects and supervising professional staff
3. The ability to integrate secondary and primary information into an insightful presentation
4. Effective motivational skills
5. The ability to understand and act on customer needs
6. A high level of productivity to meet deadline challenges
7. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills
9. Demonstrated relationship management skills at executive levels
10. A professional presence and effective presentation skills
11. A proven ability to lead and influence a project team
