Practice Director and Vice President, Business and Financial Services

Fuld and Company (www.fuld.com), the leading Competitive Intelligence Consulting Firm headquartered in Cambridge, MA, seeks high energy, self-motivated Practice Director to lead the Business and Financial Services consulting practice.

The Practice Director will develop and manage Competitive Intelligence consulting projects and research for clients in the financial services and business-to-business industries. The Practice Director will be involved in the complete project life cycle and will be responsible for developing proposals and managing projects from beginning through completion, working closely with and managing researchers, analysts, project managers, account managers and sales.

The Practice Director will be required to deliver high quality research projects, manage and develop client relationships, and be able to grow the Business and Financial Services practice. The Practice Director will serve as a main point of contact with the sales team to lead development and proposal writing, and will also be expected to contribute to strategy and operations of overall Fuld business.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to manage the operations, client projects, and business development activities, and strategically grow the practice.
• Define scope, recommend approach, develop project budgets, manage high quality execution, and present client deliverables.
• Lead the development and presentation of new business proposals to existing and new clients.
• Develop and manage long-term consulting relations with clients, with intention of repeat engagements or new opportunities in the client account.
• Provide leadership and direction to assigned staff on all aspects of client deliverables including preparation, management of project budgets, and resource allocation.
• Manage and develop all of the employees in the Business and Financial Services practice and build a team environment with other Practice Directors and staff throughout the Company.

Qualifications:

• 5 -10 years experience in management consulting or competitive intelligence consulting with at least 3 years in research consulting
• 5 – 7 years experience working in the business services and/or financial services industries with superior ability to recognize strategic opportunities
• Candidate must possess excellent presentation skills, both written and oral.
• Strong business development skills with the ability to provide actionable advice to executives at Fortune 100 companies
• Demonstrated success in project management and team management in a consulting or advisory role
• Proven analytic capabilities with the ability o piece together data from multiple sources into a coherent picture and creative problem solving
• To be successful in the role, the candidate must have superb organization skills ability to multi-task, ability to meet client and internal deadlines, and work in a fast paced, flexible, lean environment
• Must be able to travel 25-30%
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• MBA or Masters degree is preferred
